How Netherlands taxes a salary
- Inkomstenbelasting (Box 1) The first bracket rate bundles national insurance contributions: roughly 27.65 points of the 35.75% are premies volksverzekeringen (AOW state pension, Anw survivors, Wlz long-term care). Brackets two and three are income tax only, because the national insurance ceiling is reached at the top of bracket one. The site shows this as a single line rather than splitting it, since the statute levies it as one combined rate.
- Algemene heffingskorting Maximum 3,115 EUR, withdrawn at 6.398% of income above 29,736 EUR, reaching zero at 78,426 EUR. The maximum is internally consistent with the taper: (78,426 - 29,736) x 0.06398 = 3,115.
- Arbeidskorting Four build-up bands then a taper, taken from the official table. Each band base equals the previous endpoint: 8.324% x 11,965 = 996; 996 + 31.009% x 13,880 = 5,300; 5,300 + 1.95% x 19,747 = 5,685; and 5,685 - 6.51% x 87,328 = 0 at 132,920.
